Father Lawrie, trained to be a nurse working with children and adults and their families.
He then worked as a GP Practice Manager before resuming his studies for the priesthood at Oscott, Birmingham.
He was ordained on 16th July 2019 by Bishop Joseph Toal in St Aloysius, Chapelhall.
After his ordination ,he was appointed as a curate in St Joseph's Blantyre before becoming the Parish Priest of Theresa's Newharthill
In June 2024, he was appointed Parish Priest of St Ignatius' Wishaw and St Thomas' Wishaw.
